FINALLY, A VIRTUEMART FLAT RATE SHIPPING COMPONENT 

ALLOWS FIXED PRICE SHIPPING BY ITEM AND UNITS

 

THE STORY

A while back I remember thinking how cool Virtuemart was but when i tried to simply add a fixed shipping price to a product I couldn't do it.  And then I started looking for something to solve my problem and couldn't find one.  So I decided to create a component to integrate directly into Virtuemart to get this functionality.  You know, something simple so if a customer buys 1 book (or cd or and another product) then you could set a fixed amount (like $2.00) for shipping. 

Then I replied to an email from a frustrated guy trying to do the same thing and let him know I had something that worked, so he tried it and loved it.  Then something horrible happened – he posted a great review on the forum post and…you guessed it, I got blamed for advertising on a forum! 

I didn't even know the guy but then he told some friends and other people started posting great reviews and the moderator didn't like it because, again, he thought I was advertising.  Anway, I thought I better setup a place for people to have access to this component to stop the controversy.    So here it is:

 

SIMPLE, SIMPLE, SIMPLE

1. You simply install this component like you would install any other component in Virtumart.

2. When you click on a Product inside the Product List Section two extra tabs show up.  The first one is the SHIPPING PRICES tab. (see sample 1 below)

3. Then you simply can click on the "Add Another Ship Price" as many times as you need.  In the Sample 1 below if your customer orders 1 unit then the price for shipping is $2.00.  If your customer orders 2 then the price for shipping is $4.00.  Then if your customer orders 3 or more up to 30 then the fixed price for shipping is $6.00. 

4. Then at the bottom you can enter an End Price which is the shipping cost for any units over 30.

That is it.  It's that simple.

You can customize this infinitely

and you can simply put a zero for an amount to make the shipping FREE.

  

 

AND IT GETS EVEN BETTER…

A BRAND NEW ADDITION THAT SAVES YOU TONS OF TIME

1. There is another tab called "DEFAULT SHIPPING PRICES" that installs with the component now.  (See Sample 2 below)  This is so cool that I wish I would have thought of it, but I didn't.  A computer engineer helping me actually thought of it and I love it.

2. Imagine you have 100 different products but you want them to have all the same customized fixed shipping rates.  All you have to do is put your quantities and shipping prices in the Defautl Shipping Prices section and, like magic, all the shipping prices are setup.  And this default shipping automatically turns off if you use the Shipping Prices tab above. 

3. Again, you can simply click on the "Add Another Ship Price" as many times as you need.  In the Sample 2 below if your customer orders between 1 and 10 units then the price for shipping is $11.95.  If your customer orders between 11 and 20 units then the price for shipping is $12.95 and so on. 

4. Then at the bottom you can enter an End Price which is the shipping cost for any units over the last ending units (in this case any order over 140).

So if you have lots of products this saves tons of time!

DOES IT WORK WITH MY VERSION OF VIRTUEMART AND JOOMLA?

Yep.  We keep the component up to date with the latest versions of Virtuemart and the latest versions of Joomla.  So now worries.

 

 

TRAINING

This is super easy:

1. I send you a PDF document with screen shots of exactly how to intall and use the Virtuemart Flat Rate Shipping Component.

2. In the version of the program I have actually included images inside the Virtuemart tabs showing you exactly how to configure your pricing.

 

SUPPORT

As you know most of the time when you purchase a component you get very little support.  But this is different.  I actually USE this product everyday.  So I want to know if there is something going wrong.

  COST?

I paid hundreds of dollars to a computer engineer to create this for me.  Why?  Because I needed it. 

So I decided that a great deal would be around $50 because I would have gladly paid at least $50 because I found out quick that it would have cost lots more than that to create it or have it created for me. 

But now things have changed.  I'm being able to sell more than I expected so I've decided to lower the price to $20 at least for a little while and see how things go.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
